Magdalena Roze

TV Presenter / Meteorologist / Food Blogger

Magdalena Roze is one of Australia’s most versatile talents, combining her expertise in weather and journalism with her passion for food, sustainability and lifestyle.

An award-winning television presenter and meteorologist, Magdalena has almost ten years of experience presenting live television including co-hosting Network Ten’s The Project, covering two Olympic Games, co-hosting the Australian Grand Prix coverage, reading news and weather on both breakfast and prime-time bulletins.
Magdalena has reported nationwide on some of the biggest natural disasters in Australian history, working as a presenter and reporter on Network Ten, ABC, The Weather Channel, SBS and the National Geographic Channel (Australia and New Zealand).

She is one of the country’s most educated ‘Weather Presenters’. As well as a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communication, she has also completed a Diploma in Atmospheric Science and was awarded both the 2009 Biophysical Environments Prize and the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society Prize.

Magdalena is also a passionate foodie, food personality and cook book author, releasing her highly successful wholefoods and lifestyle cook book ‘Happy & Whole’ in mid-2017. Respected for her knowledge and love of food and lifestyle, she reviewed for the prestigious SMH Good Food Guide, Delicious Top 100 and Mr. & Mrs. Smith boutique hotels and contributed to publications including Delicious and Sunday Style. She is to go-to host for food events and has interviewed some of the biggest culinary names in the world including Marco Pierre White, Nigella Lawson, Heston Blumenthal, Rick Stein, Massimo Bottura and Peter Gilmore. She also co-founded and hosts The Pass, Australia’s number one food podcast on Australian itunes. It’s an insider’s guide to food and resraurants from the insiders, with guests including Matt Moran, Sarah Wilson, Colin Fassnidge, Matty Matheson, Rene Redzepi and Kylie Kwong.

Her ‘sea-change’ to Byron Bay has given Mags a whole new appreciation for the environment and what living with a closer connection to the planet actually means. It invigorated her interest in finding a more hands-on and natural approach to exploring and enjoying the good things in life, such as food, travel, wine, fashion and all aspects of wellbeing. Inspired by the seasons and driven by respect for nature, she is also an enthusiastic advocate for all that is sustainable, artisanal, ethical and natural. If there is a way Mags can make and do these things herself from pickling vegetables to making flower head wreaths then she’ll try it.

Magdalena is also a talented MC having hosted large and prestigious functions for clients and charities including Qantas, UNICEF, Taittinger, Westfield, Redkite, Myer and Ronald McDonald House.

Passionate about the environment, Magdalena is an ambassador for Earth Hour, Planet Ark and RSPCA’s ‘Set A Sister Free’ campaign. She has also been an active ambassador for cancer charity Redkite for over 5 years.

Magdalena, and partner Darren Robertson, have an adorable toddler Archie and are expecting another in mid-2018, adding ‘motherhood’ to her long list of jobs. She is also working on her blog which looks at ‘lifestyle through a weather lens’ and is a place where she can share her thoughts and ideas about how to live a happy, healthy and slightly ‘greener’ life.
