Kris Smith is a stylish and well-liked television presenter/host, model and former professional athlete.
 
Originally hailing from Manchester, Kris came to Australia in 2008. With his good looks and down to earth personality, he quickly carved out a successful modelling and television presenting career in his adopted home.
 
After appearing on a variety of television programs, in June 2013, Kris became the co-host of Channel 7’s national afternoon program –The Daily Edition. The show looks at news, views, gossip and entertainment and airs each afternoon around the country.
 
In 2015, Kris took a step back from his 5 day a week role with The Daily Edition to allow time for other media activities, his modelling and ambassador work and his new role with global reality and factual television platform – Insight (http://www.insight.tv/#!/). Kris travelled around the globe presenting and hosting for Insight and shot in the Netherlands, Africa and Indonesia. He appeared in SPARTAN X and has hosted Living Stone and Ultimate Forces Challenge, both which aired in 2017.
 
In February 2017, Kris entered the South African jungle in Channel 10’s hit – I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. He fast became a well-loved member of the jungle camp and had the opportunity to show the Australian public even more of his down to earth and genuine personality. Kris’ social media numbers soared over the period of being in the jungle, further demonstrating his popularity.

After I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Kris has co-hosted and presented on The Living Room for Channel 10 and also presents for Channel 9’s Getaway Travel Show. He also appeared in Channel 7’s documentary – The Real Full Monty in July 2018 – a fun program with a serious message about men’s health.

Prior to The Daily Edition, Kris regularly appeared on national television programs, featuring in both hosting and guest roles. In 2012, Kris was a guest commentator on popular Network Ten program, ‘Can of Worms’ and appeared on Foxtel’s ‘Celebrity Come Dine with Me.’ This was alongside his appearances as a panel co-host on ‘The Project’ with Charlie Pickering, Dave Hughes and Carrie Bickmore, and as a guest on the couch with the ladies from ‘The Circle’. In 2010, Kris won the role of co-host on Foxtel’s hit series, ‘Football Superstar’ Series 3, and was a guest co-host on ‘Australia’s Next Top Model’ with Sarah Murdoch. In 2017, Kris has also appeared on the panel on Studio 10, the Big Music Quiz, Behave Yourself and Channel 9’s Sports Sunday.
 
Kris is particularly well-known as the popular and long-standing male ambassador for Australia’s leading department store, Myer, alongside former Miss Universe, Jennifer Hawkins – a role for which he receives considerable media attention. As a model for Myer, Kris also appears at events around Australia for Myer. Kris is also a national Ambassador for Infiniti and Clinique for Men.
 
Professionally, Kris began his career as a Rugby League player, signing with Leeds at the age of 15 and going onto represent Great Britain against France and a number of other leading UK clubs. After retiring due to injury, Kris spent time working with underprivileged kids before signing with a leading UK Model Agency and embarking on a career change.
 
Kris now models in Australia alongside his media and endorsement activities, and is involved with notable charities – he is an ambassador for ‘Challenge’, helping kids with cancer, along with ‘Genes for Jeans’, promoting medical research into childhood diseases, and the White Ribbon Foundation, combatting domestic violence against women.
 
Kris is also passionate about fitness and has regularly featured in Magazines such as Men’s Health, sharing his personal fitness and health philosophies and programs. Kris is currently expanding his professional expertise in this area and is training to become a personal trainer.
